Introducing Terra Escura™
A dark, rare honey born from ancient Portuguese trees.
Crafted in small seasonal harvests from the wild mountains of Sandinha, Terra Escura™ is our boldest expression of forest honey.
Drawn from the nectar of chestnut and walnut trees, this raw, unfiltered honey is rich in antioxidants, minerals, and deep, earthy flavour.

What Makes Terra Escura™ Unique?
Floral Origin: Nectar comes primarily from centuries-old Castanheiro (chestnut) and Nogueira (walnut) trees, with wild forest herbs in support.
Rich in Antioxidants: The darker colour indicates naturally high levels of polyphenols and minerals, making it a functional food as well as a culinary one.

At Mel da Terra, we believe in slow, seasonal living and honey that speaks for itself.
Our first harvest of Terra Escura™ honey will arrive in spring 2026. Crafted by bees who forage freely among chestnut and walnut blossoms in the heart of Portugal.
Alongside this, we’re preparing a range of wellness products made from raw hive ingredients including bee pollen, propolis tincture, beeswax salves and natural balms, all made with the same respect for the land and the bees.
